the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention against Transnational
Organized Crime.

Women are the most affected by human trafficking, at 64%, followed by girls at 27%, then boys at 5%, and men at 4%!” This is what was shared with us by Dr. Yasmeen Aladdin, the Co-President of the Mediterranean Youth Foundation for Development and its representative at the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) in Vienna, during the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime. Dr. Yasmeen Aladdin discussed the statistical reports related to human trafficking and the ongoing conflict in the region, as well as youth initiatives on organized crime, corruption, and the prevention of human trafficking. She also highlighted the initiatives of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and how civil society organizations can engage with them. Dr. Yasmeen was also present at the opening formal speeches session of the conference, which included a speech by Mrs. Ghada Wali, the UN Under-Secretary-General, Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), and the current Director of the UNODC headquarters in Vienna, as well as the former Minister of Social Solidarity in Egypt. Follow us to learn more about the participation of the Egyptian delegation in the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime, attended by our Co-President, Dr. Yasmeen Aladdin, as the representative of our foundation in Vienna. #Youth #peace #Youth4Mediterranean #MYF
