“The Palestinian cause was strongly present at the conference!”
This is Dr. Yasmeen Aladdin, the Co-President of the Mediterranean Youth Foundation for Development, actively participating in the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime.

Many international, local, and regional delegations are participating in this conference, including the Egyptian delegation, which, under the leadership of Counselor Mohamed Shawky, the Prosecutor General, at the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, emphasized several key issues. These included irregular migration since 2016, cyberattacks, human trafficking, terrorism, incitement to violence, and international cooperation in cultural property.

The current conflict in Palestine was also discussed, as well as the issue of Lebanon, and the stance of the international, humanitarian, security, and legal communities towards these issues, with emphasis on the necessity of ending the conflicts in the region in one way or another.

They also emphasized that Egypt condemns all forms of crimes committed against Palestine and the Arab region, and submitted a request for an immediate cessation of Israeli aggression. They continued to affirm Palestine’s entitlement as an independent state.

All our representatives continue to actively participate in major international conferences, consistently highlighting humanitarian and developmental issues in the Euro-Mediterranean region.
