About MYF Advisors 2025: (First Cohort)

In our ongoing commitment to realizing MYF’s overarching vision of promoting knowledge exchange and enriching experiences, and furthering our mission to empower youth in the Euro-Mediterranean region, we have taken strategic steps to fortify our organizational framework. Notably, we have expanded our internal structure to include a distinguished International Advisory Council.

Comprising seasoned activists and experts hailing from diverse fields, this council is instrumental in infusing our initiatives with multifaceted perspectives and profound insights.

The MYF Advisory Council serves as a vital component in our pursuit of excellence, offering invaluable guidance as we navigate the dynamic landscape of youth empowerment. This strategic enhancement to our organizational structure is designed to ensure that MYF remains at the forefront of fostering positive change in the Euro-Mediterranean region. Through this collaborative approach, we aspire to transcend boundaries and forge lasting connections, thereby creating a more inclusive and empowered future for the youth we serve.

The selection of advisors is meticulous, considering their expertise in areas such as Social Justice, environmental sustainability, education, technology, and more. The international nature of our advisory council is a deliberate choice, reflecting MYF’s commitment to fostering collaboration and understanding across borders.

  • Work Location: Virtually
  • Type of contract: Advisory with a small compensation

 

  • Advisory Duration:

One year; from September 2024 till September 2025.

Working hours: 3-5 hours/ week

 

MYF advisors will play a vital role in assuring that the organization experience will be meaningful to the youth as well as gain practical experience and apply their academic knowledge and skills in a real-world setting.

The main responsibilities include but are not limited to

  1. Representing the foundation at Conferences, Seminars, International annual meetings, Webinars, and various forums.
  2. Providing training sessions, professional guidance and mentorship to MYF members, and newcomers regardless of race, creed, age, sexual orientation, disability, national origin, or gender.
  3. Contributing to writing project proposals, providing assistance in the planning of the MYF projects and preparing for events. Offer suggestions and resources.
  4. Build a professional network by communicating with colleagues, supervisors and professionals from all over the Euro-Mediterranean region.
  5. Encourage opportunities within the foundation that will contribute to its development.
  6. Participate in discussions and contribute to the creation of policies that align with the MYF objectives and promote youth empowerment, environmental sustainability, and inclusivity.
  7. MYF Advisors act as facilitators for collaboration between MYF and stakeholders, organizations and networks from the Euro-Med region. By fostering partnerships, networking, and opportunities.

  3. Educational Background:

MYF Advisor should be to should have recently graduated with a Master’s or PhD in Political Sci, Business, International Relations, Languages, or Mass Communication or have a relevant educational background to the position of interest.

  1. Skills and Competencies:

We are seeking advisors with expertise in

1- Capacity to represent the Organization competently and convincingly.

2- Familiarity with the political and cultural context of the Euro-Med region, and “excellent interpersonal skills” including the ability to participate effectively in high-level negotiations with internal and external partners.

3- Experience in partnership-building with Euro-Med Agencies, the private sector, and NGOs.

4 – Experience in developing proposals and agreements for external funding.

5- Have at least 5 years of experience in the field that he/she applies to.

  1. Commitment:

MYF Advisors should demonstrate a commitment to the mission and values of MYF, as well as a willingness to actively contribute to projects. Advisors are obligated to attend two online meetings per month. (If any)

  1. Availability:

Ensure that Advisors can commit to the required time and to be available for meeting and project involvement for 3-5 hours at least per week.

  1. Language Proficiency:

Proficiency in English is a must. Proficiency in any other EuroMed language is a PLUS

 

  1. Being a MYF Advisor is a rewarding and enriching experience, both personally and professionally:

    • Meeting Allowance will start from the third month of your role as an MYF Advisor, you will be eligible for a meeting allowance per meeting.
    • You will have the opportunity to enhance your skills in areas such as leadership, project management, communication, and sustainability.
    • Opportunity to participate in MYF regional and strategic projects.
    • Attend UNFCCC and ECOSOC meetings that include, but are not limited to (COP – CSW – WEF – WSF – WHA – CBD).
    • Contribute to shaping sustainable development policies and strategies at a regional level.
    • You will have the chance to connect with colleagues, professionals, and experts from diverse backgrounds, this networking can open doors to new opportunities for personal and professional advancement.
    • You will be recognized for your expertise and dedication to the foundation’s mission. This recognition can take the form of appreciation events, certificates, letters of recommendation, and references that can strengthen your professional profile.

    In case you resign and leave the advisory council, MYF retains the right not to offer a certificate or reference letter if your performance is not in line with this guidebook and the code of conduct

     

  1. 1. Nomination from MYF Board:

    1. Regarding your enriching experiences and involvement or your special participation in one of the MYF’s projects, one of the MYF board can nominate you to be MYF Advisor.

     

    2- When expressing your interest to one of the board and provide relevant information about your background, qualifications, and experiences that make you a suitable Advisor for the role.

All submitted applications will
undergo a thorough review to assess alignment with MYF’s mission and the
specified role of the position.



Shortlisted applicants will be contacted for an initial screening to gauge their motivation, availability, and initial fit for the roles.

 
 

Depending on the nature of the applicant roles, selected applicants may be required to complete a skills assessment or task to evaluate their proficiency in key areas.

 
 
 

MYF may conduct reference checks to verify the applicant’s previous experiences and qualifications

 

Shortlisted candidates will participate in an interview to further assess their qualifications, skills, and alignment with MYF’s values. The interview may be conducted in person, via video call, or over the phone.

 

After completing the assessment phases, the final selection of the Advisor will be made based on a combination of skills, motivation, and alignment with MYF’s values.

 

 

 

 

 
 
 
 

 

Responsibilities:

      • Develop proposals for MYF’s projects that are related to Climate Action.
      • Work to actively involve the youth in climate change initiatives, ensuring their voices, perspectives, and ideas are heard and considered.
      • Advocate for youth involvement in climate change policy and decision-making processes at local, national, and international levels.
      • Analyzing existing policies, identifying gaps, and suggesting innovative approaches to promote youth participation and address climate change issues.
      • Represent MYF in COPs, climate action conferences and assist in providing policy papers to stakeholders.
      • Foster partnerships and collaborations with youth-led organizations, civil society and international agencies working on climate change.
      • Collaborate with team members to ensure effective communication and coordination.

Qualifications:

      • Background in international relations, climate change, youth development, public policy or related fields.
      • Experience in advocating for youth involvement in climate change decision-making processes and understanding the climate change policy landscape.
      • Experience in project management, including planning, implementation, monitoring of initiatives and writing policy papers related to climate change.
      • Familiarity with international climate change frameworks, such as (UNFCCC) and knowledge of global and regional climate change policies and initiatives.
    • The ability to facilitate discussions, workshops, and training sessions for promoting dialogue and knowledge exchange on climate change issues.
  • Responsibilities:
    • Assist in organizing awareness campaigns, conducting training sessions, and developing educational materials to enhance understanding of human trafficking and its signs.
    • Assist in developing Editions of Dialogue of Human Fraternity Document projects, increasing international cooperation with more exchange of information with EU-Med countries.
    • Support the coordination of activities related to project implementation.
    • Conduct research and analysis on relevant topics as assigned.
    • Assist in the preparation of reports and documentation related to human rights and human trafficking.
    • The ability to coordinate public action at the regional level and further strengthen international cooperation in human rights and human trafficking.

    Qualifications:

    • Strong background in human rights, law, social work, public policy or related fields.
    • Work effectively with individuals from different cultural, ethnic, and social backgrounds.

     

    • strong understanding of human rights principles, international human rights law, and the specific issues surrounding human rights and trafficking.
    • Knowledge of international human rights standards and their application to addressing human rights and trafficking.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
