Youssef Aroog
Co-Founder and Co-President of the Board of TrusteesYoussef was born in North Sinai, Egypt, and he holds an advanced master's degree in international relations, majoring in European integration and global studies from the European Institute (Germany - France - Italy), and holds a BA in Literature and Education from Al-Azhar University in Cairo. He studied leadership and peacebuilding at the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom.
He is a researcher specializing in European and International experiences in youth strategies and policies. He has 5 years of experience in establishing and managing youth movements and organizations. He worked for a year to promote Arab-European cooperation through his responsibility in coordinating the Arab-European partnership between the League of Arab States and the Council of Europe and he dedicates his efforts to creating more opportunities for young people who have less access to opportunities.
Over the past five years, Aroog has contributed to helping young people obtain training and mobility opportunities outside borders, and he has concluded more than 100 partnerships in the field of youth work with youth organizations and national and international agencies in more than 23 countries in the Euro-Mediterranean region. Youssef has spent more than 10,000 hours volunteering with governmental and international organizations in Egypt, Russia, Spain, Hungary, Estonia, and the United Kingdom.
Yasmeen Aladdin
Co-President of the Board of TrusteesYasmeen was born in Giza Governorate, Egypt. She is a scholar and a feminist and political activist. She obtained a bachelor’s and master’s degree from the Department of Political Science from the Faculty of Economics and Political Science at Cairo University with an excellent grade. She currently works as an assistant lecturer at the same college, and is currently enrolled in the Master’s program in Women’s and Gender Studies with a scholarship from Erasmus Mundus, making her the only Egyptian woman to receive this scholarship for the years 2023-2025. She participated in many organizations, contributed to international projects, and conducted a number of research and reports on women’s rights and gender equality in the Middle East and North Africa, as a gender consultant, in addition to managing dozens of projects and workshops on gender, and volunteered for more than 4,000 hours in the field of civil education and women's issues.
Omar El-Masry
Secretary GeneralBorn in Cairo, Egypt, he is a researcher specializing in development studies and specializing in the affairs of the Euro-Mediterranean region. He is a community activist who won the Andover Prize for the year 2012. He graduated from the International Security Scholarship of the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs and completed the European Solidarity Program in 2022 as well as the Israeli Affairs Program. Omar holds a membership in the Egyptian Association for Political Economy, Statistics and Legislation and The Gabr Fellowship for East-West Dialogue in the United States of America, where he contributed to Organizing a number of forums and workshops. In addition to his research and community activities, Omar is interested in creative writing and translation literature.
Abdelhalim Mohamed
Executive DirectorHe was born in Sharkia Governorate, Egypt. He holds a bachelor’s degree in computers and information Systems from Al-Shorouk Academy and a Master's Researcher in Information Systems at Sadat City University.
Abdel Halim is Interested in volunteer work and youth issues in the Mediterranean countries and has 7 years of experience in volunteering, customer service, sales, and facilities management.
Abdel Halim has spent more than 9,000 volunteer hours with civil society organizations, community institutions, governmental bodies and ministries in Egypt and he works to qualify young people to volunteer and help them develop their capabilities. He has contributed to the development of the capabilities of more than 2,000 young people of different ages in more than one civil society organization and youth institution. He also served as Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Mediterranean Youth Foundation for Development during the period 2018-2022, as well as the position of Member of the Board of Trustees during the period 2022-2023.
Samia Khalil
Member of the Board of TrusteesShe was born in Sharkia Governorate, Egypt and holds an industrial technician diploma. She works as a financial assistant at the Egyptian Postal Authority. She has extensive experience of more than twenty years in financial and administrative affairs. In addition to her main work, Samia is concerned with vital social issues, such as circumcision and underage marriage, and works hard to contribute to solving them as one of the victims of these negative social practices. She strives to raise awareness of the importance of these issues and promote community dialogue around them. She joined the Board of Trustees in March 2024.
Nada Nabil Okba
Manager of Mediterranean Youth Center for TranslationNada was born in Cairo Governorate. She holds a BA in English language and translation from the Faculty of Al-Alsun, Ain Shams University. She has continued her studies by completing 3 diplomas at the American University in Cairo, which focused on Legal, Economic, Media, Literary, Journalistic and United Nations Translation in addition to Consecutive and Simultaneous Conference Interpretation. With more than 10 years of experience, Nada has interpreted numerous seminars for ministries and international programs, as well as acting as an accompanying interpreter for international delegations. In addition, she has translated hundreds of documents and performed voiceover in English for ministries, civil society organizations, and more. Currently, she works as a consecutive interpreter for a US- based company and she is the manager of Mediterranean Youth Center for Translation.
