Call to Action: Establish an Advisory Council on Youth for the UfM!

The UfM has launched the Youth Engagement Dossier in 2019, adopted the UfM Youth Strategy 2030 in 2021, and announced its action plan at the closing of the theird edition of Mediterranean Youth Academy in 2023, this leaves us wondering what the next step is, and who will be at the forefront of the action plan’s implementation?!

This is why, together, we are advocating for the establishment of an Advisory Council on Youth at the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM), to ensure the structured, sustainable, and ongoing participation of young people in the UfM policies.

Why is this advisory council important?

• Empowering Youth: The council would amplify youth voices and experiences across the region.
• Inclusive Policy Making: Diverse youth perspectives would inform UfM policies, leading to more effective solutions.
• Collaboration and Progress: Working together, we can build a more prosperous, peaceful, and integrated Euro-Mediterranean region.
