In Egypt, many volunteers have to cover transportation, food, and communication expenses without any financial compensation. The Mediterranean Youth Foundation has launched a campaign to end unpaid volunteering in Egypt. We demand: Reimbursement for volunteers’ transportation, food, and communication expenses. Deserved rewards after completing the volunteering period. Establishing a reporting system for violations and protecting volunteers’ rights. Recognition of the skills volunteers gain within organizations. That’s why we launched the hashtag #EndUnpaidInternshipsEgypt.
