We, at the Mediterranean Youth Foundation, are pleased to present our new report on gender equity and gender justice issues.

Over the past five years, our foundation has focused its efforts on supporting women’s rights, enhancing empowerment opportunities, and providing young people with the chance to participate in training, volunteering, and international mobility programs. We have also worked on building strong partnerships and advocating through social media via various community initiatives.

The key points of the report include:
● Reviewing the current situation of women in the Euro-Mediterranean countries.
● Analyzing the role of the “Mediterranean Youth Foundation” in gender-related projects and their impact on enhancing women’s economic, social, and political rights.
● Recognizing the priorities of the Union for the Mediterranean’s Annual Work Program 2023 and emphasizing the importance of social inclusion.
● Referring to the UN Women’s report “Turning promises into action,” 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and the role of the Egyptian government in supporting and empowering women.
● Providing definitions and diverse methodologies for achieving gender equity.
● Highlighting the ongoing challenges, while emphasizing the importance of cooperation between governments, NGOs, and civil society to achieve gender equity in the region.

The report also presents the results of a detailed analysis of the current situation of women in the region, concluding with recommendations and future plans aimed at empowering women in the Euro-Mediterranean region.

يسعدنا في مؤسسة شباب المتوسط تقديم تقريرنا الجديد حول قضايا المساواة بين الجنسين والعدالة الجندرية.
خلال السنوات الخمس الماضية، ركزت مؤسستنا جهودها على دعم حقوق المرأة، وتعزيز فرص التمكين، وإتاحة الفرصة للشباب/ات للمشاركة في برامج تدريبية، وتطوعية، والتنقل الدولي. كما عملنا على بناء شراكات قوية، والدعوة عبر وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي من خلال مبادرات مجتمعية مختلفة.
أبرز محاور التقرير تشمل:
استعراض الوضع الحالي للمرأة في دول المنطقة الأورومتوسطية.
تحليل دور “مؤسسة شباب المتوسط” في مشروعات النوع الاجتماعي، وأثرها في تعزيز الحقوق الاقتصادية، الاجتماعية، والسياسية للمرأة.
الاعتراف بأولويات برنامج عمل الاتحاد من أجل المتوسط لعام 2023، والتأكيد على أهمية الشمول الاجتماعي.
الإشارة إلى تقرير الأمم المتحدة للمرأة “تحويل الوعود إلى أفعال”، وأجندة 2030 للتنمية المستدامة، ودور الحكومة المصرية في دعم وتمكين المرأة.
تقديم تعريفات ومنهجيات متنوعة لتحقيق المساواة بين الجنسين.
تسليط الضوء على التحديات المستمرة، مع التأكيد على أهمية التعاون بين الحكومات، المنظمات غير الحكومية، والمجتمع المدني لتحقيق المساواة الجندرية في المنطقة.
كما يعرض التقرير نتائج تحليل تفصيلي للوضع الحالي للنساء في المنطقة، ويختتم بتوصيات وخطط مستقبلية تهدف إلى تمكين المرأة في المنطقة الأورومتوسطية.
