As part of its commitment to empowering youth and promoting employability, the Mediterranean Youth Foundation France (MYFF) participated in the “Smart Skills for Smart Career” project, implemented with the support of the European Union. The project brought together young participants from different countries and backgrounds in France for nine days of learning, experimentation, and intercultural exchange aimed at preparing youth for the rapidly changing world of work.

Throughout the program, participants explored a wide range of topics designed to equip them with practical tools and future-oriented skills. Interactive sessions focused on:

  • Artificial Intelligence and its impact on the labour market.
  • Building a strong personal and professional identity.
  • Resume preparation using AI-powered tools.
  • Interview preparation and communication skills.
  • Navigating local and international job platforms.

Beyond the technical knowledge, the project provided a unique environment where participants exchanged experiences, perspectives, and ideas, creating a dynamic and experiential learning space that encouraged collaboration and mutual understanding.

Exploring the Future of Work and Artificial Intelligence

One of the key themes of the project was understanding how artificial intelligence is reshaping careers and recruitment processes. Participants engaged in discussions around questions that are becoming increasingly relevant in today’s labour market, including:

  • AI Recruiter versus Human Recruiter: what does the future hold?
  • How to benefit from AI technologies while preserving human creativity and authenticity.
  • Practical ways to use AI tools for job searching, career planning, and professional development.

Through workshops and collaborative activities, participants gained valuable insights into the opportunities and challenges presented by digital transformation and the future of employment.

More Than Training: Building Connections and Shared Experiences

In addition to the educational sessions, the project offered numerous opportunities for team building and intercultural exchange. Reflection groups, collaborative activities, treasure hunts, and social gatherings transformed participants into a community united by learning, friendship, and shared memories.

The experience highlighted one of the greatest strengths of youth mobility programmes: their ability to create lasting connections and meaningful experiences that extend far beyond the duration of the project itself.

Towards More Inclusive and Future-Ready Careers

Through its participation in “Smart Skills for Smart Career,” MYFF continues to support youth in acquiring the knowledge, competencies, and digital skills needed to navigate the evolving labour market and contribute to more innovative and inclusive societies.
